Hemos preparado el mejor viaje fotográfico para descubrir Nepal en dos semanas con todas las comodidades (los mejores hoteles y transporte privado durante todos los días de nuestra estancia, todas las horas del día).

Conoceremos a fondo el Valle de Katmandú, la Joya del Himalaya y el Parque Nacional de Chitwan, donde realizaremos un safari fotográfico.

LLEGAMOS A KATMANDÚ

Nuestro guía local de habla hispana que nos acompañará durante las próximas dos semanas nos recoge en el aeropuerto de Katmandú y nos lleva hasta nuestro hotel (la palabra nuestro adquiere relevancia porque no habrá más huéspedes: sólo los foto-nepaltarras ;-))

DÍA DE RETRATOS

¡Comienza la aventura fotográfica nepalí!

Tras desayunar en nuestro hotel, Dipendrá vendrá a recogernos en nuestro autobús privado en el que viajaremos los siguientes 15 días y nos llevará a nuestra primera parada: el santuario budista de Swayambhunath, patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y uno de los más sagrados de todo el país que domina toda una colina. Allí practicaremos fotografía de arquitectura, paisaje ¡y urbana! Pues es un centro de peregrinación que nos permitirá mimetizarnos con su cultura desde el primer día.

Desde allí nos dirigiremos en nuestro autobús privado a Kirtipur, un típico pueblo newar que conserva intacta su arquitectura y forma de vida, siendo muy importante en la historia de Nepal.

Allí nos citaremos con el fotógrafo local y amigo de FotoGasteiz Bikas Khadge para realizar una doble sesión de fotografía antropológica. Haremos fotografía de retrato con una mujer local tostando arroz en un molino y otra mujer realizando rakshi, el licor típico de Nepal.

Conoceremos sus utensilios de cocina, la ropa que utilizan en sus rituales, las herramientas típicas de la cultura newari…

Día 3 / domingo 18 de Agosto

FOTOGRAFÍA DE ARQUITECTURA

Tras desayunar en nuestro hotel, nuestro guía vendrá a recogernos con nuestro autobús privado y disfrutaremos de las primeras luces del día en Boudhanath, el santuario budista más grande y más importante de todo Nepal.

Podremos fotografiar las costumbres de los nepalíes, que hacen girar las ruedas de la oración mientras rodean la estupa.

Y de allí nos iremos a Pashupatinath: templo del Dios Shiva, en la orilla oeste del río Bagmati. Fotografiaremos a los peregrinos y los reflejos del templo en el agua.

Declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, el templo de Pashupatinath es uno de los más sagrados del mundo, adorado por hinduistas y budistas. La pagoda de dos niveles con techos de oro y puertas de plata alberga el “linga sagrado”, o símbolo fálico, de Lord Shiva.

Pashupatinath también es conocido por ser el lugar de celebración de las cremaciones hindús a orillas del río Bagmati, por lo que es muy probable que veamos alguna.

Día 4 / lunes 19 de Agosto

FOTOGRAFÍA DE PAISAJE Y RETRATO

Por la mañana después del desayuno nos dirigiremos en nuestro vehículo privado y con nuestro guía de habla hispana como cada día hasta Pharping para visitar el Templo Shesh Narayan, un santuario muy venerado de Vishnu rodeado de estanques y estatuas, escondido debajo de una pared de un acantilado y monasterios budistas.

Aquí trabajaremos la larga exposición.

Visitaremos la Cueva de meditación dedicada a Padmasambhava o Guru Rinpoche, el pináculo del budismo tibetano.

Y seguidamente nos trasladamos a Chobar donde podremos fotografiar su puente colgante.

Iremos al pueblo medieval de Bungamati, donde quedaremos con el fotógrafo Bikas Khadge que guiará una sesión de fotografía documental en la que podremos retratar a una grupo de mujeres nepalíes sembrando arroz mientras posan para nosotros.

FOTO URBANA / RETRATO NO POSADO

Después del desayuno, en la puerta del hotel nos estará esperando nuestro autobús privado para acercarnos a la Plaza Durbar de Kathmandu y comenzaremos una apasionante jornada de fotografía de calle en el auténtico Katmandú, siempre acompañados por nuestros guía que nos contará los pormenores de su historia.

Recorreremos sus estrechos callejones, visitaremos la plaza de Indrachowk con su Templo Akash Bhairaw y continuaremos hasta el antiguo mercado de Ason.

FOTOGRAFÍA DE RETRATO

Visitaremos el Templo de Changu Narayan y nos dirigiremos a Bhaktapur, capital de Nepal desde el siglo XII hasta el XV y patrimonio la Humanidad por la UNESCO desde 1979.

Está situada a 1.401 metros sobre el nivel del mar y está habitada por campesinos y artesanos hindúes y budistas, que conviven en total armonía.

Fotografiaremos sus templos estilo pagoda y shikhar, los vihars, y bahis (monasterios budistas tradicionales), los lonhah hitis (grifos de piedra), estanques, los refugios públicos (Pati, Maths y Sattal), las estupas, las puertas de la cuidad, los templos de terracota, sus plazas y palacios…

Y allí nos reuniremos con nuestro fotógrafo nepalí, con quien realizaremos dos sesiones de retrato más.

Fotografiaremos durante una hora a un artesano haciendo cerámica en un torno.

VISITA A MONASTERIO BUDISTA + FOTOGRAFÍA URBANA RURAL

Este día conoceremos Namobudha, es uno de los sitios religiosos más importantes para los budistas en Nepal. de Nepal.

Visitaremos el Monasterio budistas Thrangu Tashi Yangtse, fundado en 1978, es el hogar de más de 250 monjes e incluye una universidad monástica, una escuela para los jóvenes monjes y una clínica médica tibetana.

Daremos un pequeño pequeño paseo de 10 minutos y llegaremos a la cueva de donde Budha ofreció su cuerpo a los tigres y las estupas.

Para finalizar el día podemos caminar hasta el pintoresco e interesante Panauti, un pequeño pueblo situado junto a los ríos Roshi khola y Punyamata Khola que se mantiene tal cual fue concebido a finales del siglo XVIII y nos permitirá dejarnos envolver de su ambiente nostálgico en sus estrechas calles.

EN RUTA: COMENZAMOS NUESTRO VIAJE AL HIMALAYA

¡Nos vamos de viaje! ?

Hoy además de bajar nuestra mochila fotográfica, también tendremos que bajar nuestra maleta, pues dejamos el hotel de Patán para dirigirnos a Bandipur, nuestro segundo destino. Un pintoresco pueblo Newar que todavía conserva su aspecto de hace siglos, en el que pasaremos una noche de camino a Pokhara, la joya del Himalaya.

Localizado en la cordillera Mahabharat a una altitud de 1.030 metros en el distrito de Tanahu, Bandipur proporciona una vista panorámica del macizo Annapurna, picos Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Langtang y el Valle de Marsyangdi.

La visita a Bandipur es una oportunidad para acercarse a la vida cultural de los newars que refleja una refinada civilización del Valle de Kathmandu.

Bandipur era un prospero centro de comercio con sus alegres edificios de fachadas neoclásicas.

Visitaremos la plaza principal del pueblo con su templo Bindhebasini, también el templo Khadga Devi y el Templo Mahalaxmi, la biblioteca en el
centro de Bandipur y tendremos tiempo libre para pasear por sus calles y detenernos en la vida local.

¡LLEGAMOS A POKHARA, LA JOYA DEL HIMALAYA!

Desayunamos en Bandipur y bajamos la maleta al autobús, pues continuamos tres horas de carretera entre paisajes de ensueño hasta Pokhara.

La belleza cautivadora de Pokhara y su aire puro, el espectacular paisaje de picos nevados, lagos serenos y la vegetación de los alrededores, la convierten en “la joya en el Himalaya”, un lugar de gran belleza natural.

Con la magnífica gama de Annapurnas como telón de fondo y la serenidad de tres grandes lagos (Phewa, Rupa y Begnas) Pokhara es el mejor destino para relajarse.

Tres grandes etnias del Himalaya los Mustangi, Gurungs y Magars predominan en esta región.

Después del check in iniciamos las visitas:

Devi’s Fall, localmente conocida como el Patale Chhango, es una cascada fascinante ubicada a 2 km al sur-oeste del Aeropuerto de Pokhara, en la carretera de Siddhartha.
Pagoda de la Paz Mundial, se puede ver en la parte superior de una colina en la franja sur del Lago Phewa.

Cuenta con cuatro imágenes de Buda situadas en los 4 puntos cardinales.

La pagoda en forma de cúpula tiene una ubicación excelente sobre la colina, por lo que es un gran punto panorámico que ofrece unas vistas espectaculares del Annapurna y Dhaulagiri.

EN RUTA HACIA DAMPUS (VISTAS DEL ANNAPURNA)

Desayunamos en nuestro hotel de Pokhara con estas impresionantes vistas.

Y ponemos rumbo a Dhampus (2 horas de viaje) con la ropa necesaria para un día (Dejamos la maleta en el hotelazo de Pokhara)

Este pueblo de la etnia Gurung es la entrada al Area de Conservación de Annapurna, cordillera del Himalaya.

Dejamos la mochila en el hotel y ponemos rumbo a una aldea local de casas típicas.

RUMBO A CHITWAN / FOTOGRAFÍA DE PAISAJE Y BAILE TRADICIONAL

Desayunamos en nuestro hotelazo de Pohkara y bajamos rumbo al Parque Nacional de Chitwan.

Tenemos 5 horas para llegar así haremos una parada fotográfica en el lugar más bonito que nos pilla de camino: una majestuosa cascada de 100m de altura.

¡Ya estamos en Chitwan!

Chitwan significa literalmente “corazón de la selva”.

El Parque Nacional de Chitwan es el área de conservación mejor conservada de Asia, donde la fauna y su hábitat permanecen intactos.

El parque se encuentra en las tierras bajas de Terai y consta de bosques de Sal, praderas con elefantes, montañas, meandros y las llanuras de inundación de los ríos Narayani, Rapti y Reu.

Declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1984, el parque se extiende sobre un área de 932 Km2

Tendremos la suerte de alojarnos en el mejor hotel de todo el parque y pegarnos un buen chapuzón.

Tras el chapuzón, comemos (comida incluida) y nos vamos de tour por el pueblo de la etnia Tharu, a cuyos miembros podremos retratar realizando sus bailes típicos.

SAFARI EN CHITWAN / FOTOGRAFÍA DE FAUNA Y NATURALEZA

Nos despertamos en nuestro hotel de Chitwan y desayunamos fuerte (buffé libre) ¡Nos depara un día de aventura!

Tomaremos varios jepps para alcanzar la zona de acceso al parque, que se recorre a lomos de elefantes, sobre los cuales cruzaremos el río Narayani y caminaremos durante dos horas entre animales en peligro de extinción como rinocerontes de un cuerno, tigres de Bengala, elefantes salvajes, antílopes de cuatro cuernos, leopardos, osos perezosos, jabalíes, monos rhesus, mono langur gris, perros salvaje, cobras, kraits y pitones, cocodrilos de pantano… (Estaremos a salvo a lomos de los elefantes, que es el mejor y más silencioso modo de descubrir este parque único, pero si alguno no se atreve podrá hacer el safari en jeep por las zonas acotadas para vehículos).

Tras el safari, tomaremos una canoa para surcar una zona del río habitada por cocodrilos del Ganges (comen sólo peces) y delfines de agua dulce.

Y visitaremos el centro de cría de elefantes de Chitwan.
